Program Overview
Theme: The Other Side of Orlando

While most folks picture theme parks and glitz when they hear “Orlando” this fascinating city has a whole other side to it. We will be staying and serving in Holden Heights, a racially diverse, low income community a mile south of the beautiful downtown. This trip has a strong emphasis on assessment based community development, immersion in a new culture, personal growth, and forming a community. We also have a "fun day" planned either to the beach or some fresh water springs. It should be a ton of fun as well as impactful. Site Host: Our ministry partners are Kaley Square, Transformation Village, and The Polis Institute. Housing Arrangements: The church is a large facility with plenty of space to house a large group. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding and air mattress (preferably the non-leaking kind).

Student Experiences:
“Through my Immersion Trip, I have been challenged to see God in everyone I meet! Whether that is a child with a terminal illness or a member of a church we helped, we are all His beloved children.”
-Junior, Sidney

"I learned to be less selfish in my faith. Rather than hoping others
see Christ in me and my works, looking for Christ in others and seeing God in all people and things."
-Junior, Anne
