Program Overview

Take your studies to Rome where your time in Italy’s capital will quickly become filled with strolling narrow, cobble-stoned streets, appreciating century-old buildings, and immersing yourself in the local culture. Designed for students looking to gain an international perspective on business, the Business + Culture program is an incredible opportunity to live and learn in The Eternal City while earning credits toward your degree. 

When class is in session, you’ll have the opportunity to enroll in courses at CIEE’s renowned partner institution, Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali (LUISS), which is known for its prestigious business programs. In addition to learning at LUISS, you’ll choose from a wide range of courses at CIEE Rome, including business topics and optional internship opportunities.

Excursions & Activities

  • Participate in overnight excursions or day trips to some of the most iconic places in Italy, such as Florence, Pompeii, and the Amalfi Coast 
  • Visit museums and archeological sites, like the Roman Forum 
  • Relax while listening to Italian music masterpieces at the Opera   
  • Join local student engagement groups to meet Italians, make friends, and network

Internships

  • Volunteer with local shelters or not-for-profit entities like Retake Rome 

Students interested in one of the following Academic Projects must submit additional materials as part of their course selection:   

  • Internships: Build new skills and intercultural competencies?and become an active member of the Rome professional environment by interning at a local business  
  • Research: Pursue a research project of your own design incorporating independent, local fieldwork 
  • Service-learning: Combine course-based learning with practical, relevant project experience to meet a community-defined need
