Unlock the secrets to one of the world’s happiest societies in Copenhagen, where you’ll experience first-hand the leading edge of sustainability, innovation, and a thriving democracy. The Semester in Copenhagen program offers you the chance to explore a wide range of courses, hand-picked to highlight Denmark's special leadership contributions to the world. While abroad, you can choose from CIEE courses at our center and up to two courses from the extensive portfolio of 3,000 ASU online courses, including many in the fields of STEM, humanities, and social sciences.  

Copenhagen is a dream location for students of all disciplines, offering a vibrant mix of cultural, social, and historical sites. The beautiful and spirited city provides unique opportunities for site visits and guest speakers in areas such as sustainable urban planning, social welfare systems, cultural heritage, quality of life, and innovative public policies. Outside of the classroom, specially designed co-curricular and extracurricular activities will enrich your experience abroad by providing a deeper immersion into Danish culture and society.

  • Spend an afternoon exploring Freetown Christiana, an opportunity to experience the world-famous social experiment 
  • Meet GEFION, probably the world’s most powerful AI supercomputer, at a guest lecture and tour of the Danish Center for AI Innovation 
  • Time travel to the future at GreenLab Skive, where you’ll explore tomorrow’s green technologies, including power-to-X and green hydrogen

Directed Independent Research

  • Refine your resume and interviewing skills for the local business culture 
  • Explore the professional working world of Tallinn through organizational site visits, industry networking events, and guest lectures 
  • Participate in workshops that will help you make the most of your internship.
